via Vietnam Net, 26 December 2023: The Ho Chi Minh City Museum of History launched an exhibition titled “Long Van Khanh Hoi – Dragon Images in Vietnamese Culture,” featuring 100 antiques displaying dragon imagery, spanning from the Ly Dynasty to the Nguyen Dynasty. This timely exhibition, coinciding with the Lunar New Year 2024 – the Year of the Dragon, highlights items like royal robes, ceramics, and gold and jade books. It offers visitors a chance to explore the evolving significance and design of dragon symbols in Vietnamese culture, reflecting deep spiritual and humanistic values. The exhibition runs until March 31, 2024.
Titled “Long Van Khanh Hoi – Dragon Images in Vietnamese Culture”, it introduces 100 antiques from the Ly Dynasty to the Nguyen Dynasty (11th century to early 20th century) collected by the museum and private collectors, with the dragon images seen in the royal court, daily life, religious beliefs, and architecture.
The exhibition’s highlights are items associated with the Nguyen Dynasty (1802-1945) such as royal robes, ceramics, seals, and gold and jade books.
