via Khmer Times, 14 March 2024: Archaeologists are meticulously cataloging artefact collections in Banteay Meanchey, Cambodia, focusing on pottery and other historical items to preserve the rich cultural heritage of the region. This initiative aids in the conservation of archaeological sites and serves as an educational resource for students and professionals in the field.
Archaeologists are making an inventory of ancient Khmer artefact collections in Banteay Meanchey province.
Tep Sokha, Director of the Analysis and Experimental Office at the Department of Archaeology of the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, said that archaeologists are registering archives for the preservation of archeological sites in the Banteay Meanchey and Svay Chek Museums.
He added that both museums are involved with projects to take care of artefacts, especially the preservation of pottery. The work is useful for training archeological students and officials at the Department of Culture and Fine Arts in Banteay Meanchey.
