via SpotPH, 08 May 2024: The National Museum of the Philippines recently unveiled the “Gifted, Repatriated” exhibit featuring 52 Kulaman Limestone Burial Jars dating back to the Metal Age. These sacred objects, discovered in the early 1970s and long-held in a private U.S. collection, were repatriated from the US and are now publicly displayed for the first time.
This week, just in time for Heritage Month, the National Museum of the Philippines presented a most unique donation: a large number of Kulaman Limestone Burial Jars originating from Sultan Kudarat and hailing from a single private collection, all of which up to this point have not been seen by the public.
Last May 7, 2024, the “Gifted, Repatriated” exhibit of Kulaman Limestone Burial Jars was opened, revealing a 52-piece collection of limestone burial jars dating from the Metal Age. This large assemblage of important Philippine archaeological pieces is part of a collection of just one person, the late Sally von dem Hagen. All the pieces were in the US until its repatriation to the Philippines earlier this year.
