The Kyushu National Museum has inked a deal with Hoi An to exhibit some of the artifacts from the World Heritage Site.
Hoi An antiques to be displayed in Japan
Tuoi Tre News, 17 April 2012
The Hoi An People’s Committee has approved the lending of many antiques to be exhibited at the Kyushu National Museum in Dazaifu city, Fukuoka prefecture in Japan.
These items include colorful glass items found at Lang Beach, Cham Island and the remains of Japanese Hizen pottery found at house No. 16, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai in Hoi An’s old town.
Experts at the Kyushu National Museum have completed documents to select and borrow antiques from the Hoi An Center of Heritage Conservation and Management.
Having antiques exhibited at a Japanese museum is a chance for Hoi An to promote its image to the Japanese and help them understand the trade link between the two countries in the past.
